**Description**

This Flex Staff position will work on an as needed basis. Will work shifts between the hours of 8:30a - 9p.

The Driver-Courtesy Van Service provides a variety of duties relating to the operation and care of the wheelchair and courtesy vans. Assists with the transfer of patients in and out of the vehicles, and transports patients at discharge, adhering to Safety Standards and Department of Motor Vehicle guidelines. Additionally this position participates in a variety of programs and services offered by the department and Health System.

Education: High School Diploma or equivelant

Experience: Driving of commercial or transport vehicles preferred, Familiarity with Tri-State area. Ability to drive vehicles during inclement weather conditions.

Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver's License. A driving record as required by law for vehicle expected to operate. No record of moving violations in the past three years is preferred. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to maintain concentration and attention to driving in a sometimes distracting environment. Demonstrates a pleasant nature and ability to communicate effectively. Able to follow directions and read maps with accuracy. No physical limitations which would impact ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Dexterity to operate van, wheelchair lift and safety apparatus. Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to ensure/assess patient safely.
