Commercial Vehicle Driver

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Based out of our Byron Center segment, our CDL-A Truck Drivers pick up goods from our suppliers and deliver them to our customers, building and solidifying strong business relationships. They may also transfer goods between our locations. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Loading and unloading trailers using tie down straps and operating side curtain trailers
  • Properly securing all material loaded on their truck
  • Properly maintaining their Lumbermens-supplied CMV ensuring compliance with required mechanical maintenance per DOT regulations
  • Following all DOT and Company safety regulations
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships on behalf of Lumbermens with all those they come in contact with, including customers, suppliers, fellow employee owners and patrons on the road

This position offers a $250 annual clothing allowance to offset costs for work apparel, protective footwear, and PPE.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with fellow employee owners
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks at one time
  • Desire to do things right the first time
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work and drive safely and efficiently at all times
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to operate a forklift (trailer loading experience a plus)
  • Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 75lbs
