REPO Plus Claims Specialist

The REPO Plus Claims Specialist is responsible for managing daily new assignments and managing REPO Plus inventories up to and exceeding 400 files. The position will review insurance policies and claim documentation to investigate the potential of coverage on damaged vehicles for a variety of lenders. They will direct all related claim activities including coverage investigations, claim history investigations, estimate and appraisal requests/reviews, as well as the eventual payment or rejection of the REPO Plus claim by an outside insurance carrier (OIC). The position will also be responsible for department training, auditing, mentoring, and workflow/process improvement. They will act as a technical resource within their team as well as the department and provide support for the REPO Plus Claims Supervisor.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

REPO Plus File Handling and Recovery (70%)

  • Responsible for managing the receipt of new claim assignments as well as managing pending inventory assign to them including:
    • Initial review of new assignments for potential insurance coverage
    • Identifying opportunities for the following:
      • Coverage investigation
      • New claim reporting to carriers
      • Estimate/Appraisal creation and review
      • Prior claim history investigation
    • Demand creation and delivery to outside insurance carriers (OICs)
    • Timely follow up with OICs on payment or rejection of REPO Plus claim files
    • Escalation on rejected files as necessary
  • Must meet individual QA targets as set by REPO Plus management
  • Must meet individual Recovery targets as set by REPO Plus management
REPO Plus Training and Escalation (10%)
  • Will provide training as directed by the REPO Plus Claim Supervisor including the following:
    • New hire training
    • Evergreen training
    • Cross position training
  • Will be an escalation resource within their team for any claim requiring escalation from a REPO Plus Adjuster or other department member
    • May be required to take on additional pending in situations where an associate leave the department or as part of an inventory reduction exercise
    • May be required to complete Department of Insurance complaints/inquiries as needed
  • One off claim assignments falling outside of the normal REPO Plus workflow or scope
Process Improvement Projects (10%)
  • May be required to provide feedback and assistance as needed for various workflow/process reviews and enhancements including:
    • Testing existing workflows for efficiency
    • Assisting in providing discovery and design for new workflows/processes
  • Providing feedback on current workflows/processes to REPO Plus management
REPO Plus Claims Supervisor Assistance (10%)
  • Will assist the REPO Plus Claims Supervisor as needed including any of the following:
    • Assignment of work
    • Audit of existing and closed inventory
    • Client communications related to specific claim inquiries
    • Act as an additional point of contact for lenders assigned to their REPO Plus Claims Supervisor
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's Degree, or Vocational or Technical School Degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 - 2 years related experience
