Process Engineer

Process Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and technical support to the entire facility. The Process Engineer will lead both day to day, short-term initiatives as well as long-term efforts to drive continuous improvement in the areas of process safety, operational capability, cost control, and overall manufacturing efficiencies.Essential Responsibilities & DutiesActively participates and provides leadership for all site safety programsProvides technical support and input to maintain, improve, and advance the site Process Safety Management programLeads and supports Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements at the siteUses Management of Change (MOC) to control and manage proposed process changesParticipates in required Process Hazard Analysis (PHA's)Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management SystemLeads and documents operational incident investigations, including presentation of resultsAssists in the design, procurement, and installation of new equipmentDevelops site operating procedures and participates in Operator trainingUses statistical techniques to evaluate and improve process capabilitiesProvides technical support and engineering expertise to resolve operational problemsManage technical vendor/supplier relationships and performanceInvestigates new technologies and equipment modifications to improve safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and operational efficiencySupports and participates in site community outreach opportunitiesBasic Qualifications (Required) Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering8+ years of work experience in the chemical manufacturing industryDemonstrated process troubleshooting and complex problem-solving skillsEffective written, listening, and verbal communication skillsetAbility to clearly communicate with leadership, employees, contractors, vendors, and customersAbility to lead and contribute as part of cross functional teamsDesire to learn, accept new challenges, and willingness to grow and advance within the companyAbility to work independently or cooperatively to deliver required resultsExhibit initiative to identify and complete tasks necessary to support site operationsUnderstanding of Federal and State EPA, OSHA, PSM, EHS and DOT regulationsKnowledge of standard chemical industry permitting processesUnderstanding and experience in the use and application of statistical process controlProficient with the use of Microsoft Office product suiteAbility to, on a non-routine basis, work weekends, holidays and respond to emergency callouts.Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications10+ years of relevant work experienceExperience with Emerson DeltaV process control platform - configuration and loop tuningExperience with greenfield site commissioning/startup activitiesIndustry experience and familiarity in the handling of flammable materialsExperience with predictive and preventative maintenance programsExperience with plant level project management
