With the support of our parent company, AutoZone, we are an employer of choice for those who are passionate about working for a leader in the automotive software industry.Position Summary:As a member of Database Administration Team, you will be responsible for providing second-level support for our IT operations, product engineering, data services, and data analysis teams; responsible for managing RDMS and DBMS (relational, data warehouse, data lake, data mart, and operational data stores) services hosted in multiple datacenters. Areas of coverage include but are not limited to MS SQL Server, GCP Cloud Databases and multiple common document-oriented databases. Daily operational and development duties of a Senior Database Administrator are: technical elaboration and enablement during application planning and engineering agile exercises, workload performance profiling and optimization, design/implement/maintenance of blue-green production environments, query optimization, and after-hours on-call support.Position Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned:Apply strong technical problem-solving skills dailyBe proactive with a focus on constant improvement and follow through at all levelsDemonstrate your ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple prioritiesProvide excellent oral and written communication skillsAnalyze/troubleshoot all levels of server, application and network issues.Document, track and monitor technical issues to ensure timely resolutionProvide timely and thorough input for regular status reportingTake ownership of issues, work independently or escalate as needed, and find creative ways to resolve problemsPerform other duties and special projects as required or assignedWork closely with the IT operations, product engineering, data services, and data analysis teams to provide database development/administrative technical enablementProvide advice/recommendations on database architecture, design and implementationEstablish database design conventions in best practice, assure conventions and standards are compliant and fully documentedWork with data modelers to review and optimize logical data models and implement them in physical database schemas using data modeling toolsCommunicate with non-technical users and technical personnel on business and product delivery teamsSupport and participate in the database change management and deployment processesDevelop and implement stored procedure verification tools that assist developers in troubleshooting and performance improvementDevelop and implement procedures for the synchronization between different database environmentsProvide training and documentation for knowledge transfer to other database team members50% Database development and administrative technical enablement, and collaboration with application team members, assigned to Agile story work, elaboration exercises30% ITOPS duties: Ticket handling, audit, plan, patch, test, and implementing of changes15% Document processes, procedures, configuration settings and infrastructure design for business continuity and disaster recovery5% Includes on-call activitiesPosition Requirements:The Senior Database Administrator shall possess 7+ years of technical knowledge, and experience with the following systems, platforms, and/or applicationsHands-on/applied experience in database development/administration using MSSQL, GCP Cloud databases, common document-oriented databases; including performance monitoring, capacity and multi-site disaster planning, transaction workload balancing, performance tuning.MSSQL:SQL Clustering, Replication, Log shipping, Database Mirroring, Availability GroupsGCP Cloud DatabasesCommon document-oriented databases: MongoDB, CouchDB, Couchbase, SolrExtensive knowledge with complex SQL, stored procedures,and SQL programming, and optimizationExperience in Agile database development and administrationProficiency with MSSQL running in converged or hyperconverged environments VMWare & physicalExperience in database schema design including logical and physical for large scale, highly available application systemsGood writing skills to provide documentation for DBA and software development teamsStrong knowledge/understanding of ITSM/ITIL support processes and methodologies, incident management, change control management, problem managementCLICK HERE FOR DETAILS#J-18808-Ljbffr
