Who You Are::

Spring Bank is currently seeking a Bilingual Banking Customer Service Representative to join the staff. This is a full-time, non-exempt (overtime eligible) role, based in the South Bronx headquarters. The ideal candidate must have prior cash handling and customer service experience, with a preference for at least a year of retail banking experience. Responsibilities include understanding and promoting various banking products, and providing excellent customer service. The candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish, possess strong math and computer skills, and demonstrate knowledge of banking products and regulations. This full-time position requires a high school diploma, with an associate's degree being a plus.

What You'll Do::
  • Provide friendly, pro-active servicing of customer needs to continually exceed expectations.
  • Open new accounts with appropriate identification and maintain customer files.
  • Complete other operational duties as assigned, including those unique to the requirements of assigned branch.
  • Process customer monetary transactions accurately and efficiently as required ensuring branch protocol and customer service is maintained at the highest level.
  • Resolve easy-to-complex customer service issues expeditiously while providing a personable customer experience.
  • Collect and safeguard sensitive financial data.
  • Perform recorded callbacks to verify wiring instructions.
  • Use a variety of banking systems to service customers (FIS, Horizon, etc.)
  • Describe and sell the Banks products and services as appropriate to benefit customers.
  • Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential losses and maintain awareness of current fraud alerts.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Banks products and services and applicable Federal regulations, including Bank Secrecy and Know Your Customer principles.
    • Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.
  • Review reports and resolve exceptions as per procedure.
  • Share knowledge and train other employees within Branch.
  • Contact clients to ensure satisfaction with current services and cross-sell if appropriate.
  • Must be willing to work at other branches if/when necessary
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
What You Bring::
  • Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Prior cash handling and customer service experience required.
  • Must have strong math and computer skills in additional to being analytical.
  • Ability to build new customer relationships and/or strengthen existing relationships.
  • Preferred knowledge of banking products and services as well as banking regulations and compliance issues involving customer transactions.
  • Must have an upbeat and outgoing personality with a strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to assist/support other areas and grow within the Bank.
  • Must be a team player; the ability to work as part of a team is essential.
  • Must be a strong communicator; ability to solve problems with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must be able to commute to the South Bronx on a daily basis.
  • Knowledge of bank software applications and internal processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have at least a high-school degree, a relevant Associates degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Hourly pay rate range- $23-$25.
