Location Description:

We are thrilled to be fully reopening Wayfinder Newport in 2024
- a boutique hotel created by a group of local chefs, bartenders, artists, designers, and entrepreneurs who are proud to call Newport, RI home. Overview:

We are looking for a leader who is great with numbers, is highly analytical, an engaging personality and customer focused to join our team as the Director of Finance. The successful candidate for this role is detail oriented, is open to learning and leading by example, responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team, as well as being there to support the team both personally and professionally.

The Director of Finance will lead and coordinate the Accounting Operations in the hotel to ensure accurate, timely and consistent reporting in accordance with policies and procedures, Federal, State and local laws and regulations. This person will maintain control over income, expenses and the assets and liabilities of the property. Position is responsible for the daily operation of Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Journal, General Cashiering, Taxes and internal controls.

Your role:

  • Prepare and coordinate monthly forecasts and outlooks, including, but not limited to, quarterly reforecasts for owner and any similar reports.
  • Prepare budget forms and lead the completion of the budget packages.
  • Review financial reports in accordance with reporting calendars and ensure that all reports are submitted on a timely basis.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to all Finance/Accounting employees.
  • Prepare all other financial reports and analyses.
  • Prepare all year-end reports, including tax reporting packages.
  • Maintain the books of accounts and prepare monthly reports.
  • Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external and internal auditors in the completion of their field work.
  • Oversee payroll and labor management for all departments.
  • Ensure all company standards and procedures are followed as it relates to cash handling.


Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Four years experience in accounting required. Prefer experience in hotels, restaurants, resorts, or conference centers. Payroll experience preferred.
  • Supervisor experience required. Experience managing managers required.
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook. Expert knowledge in Excel. Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote experience desirable.
  • Knowledge with a Hotel Property Management System required. StayNTouch experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of F&B Point of Sales systems. Toast experience desirable.
  • Knowledge working with Accounting system. F&O/ProfitSage experience desirable.
  • Knowledge working with inventory/procurement system. Craftable experience desirable.
