Northglenn is only 15 minutes north of downtown Denver and all of the events and attractions of a major metropolitan city. Go east on Interstate 70 and Denver International Airport is only 30 minutes away. Receive up to 400 hoursTuition AssistanceEmployee Assistance Program Free Recreation Center membership for you and your immediate familyBilingual Pay Duties and Responsibilities Sweeps, mops, washes, scrubs, strips, and waxes floors by hand or machine; dusts and polishes furniture and woodwork; washes windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, walls and ceilings; performs minor building maintenance repairs and inside painting.Cleans, sanitizes and restocks restrooms; dusts and vacuums rooms; locks and unlocks doors and windows.Collects trash, disposes of waste; replaces light bulbs; performs minor building repairs requiring limited special skills as directed and reports other needed repairs to supervisors.Operates mechanical sweepers and buffers.Installation of paper towels, soap, toilet paper and chemical dispensers. Mounts and installs bulletin boards, calendars, pictures, etc.Moves furniture, supplies and equipment manually or by use of hand truck.Shovels snow, spreads snowmelt, maintains sidewalks and assists in keeping outside premises in a safe and orderly condition.Secures work area and/or facility in a safe and orderly fashion when work is completed.Prepares surfaces for painting and performs painting assignments. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in custodial or general maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the following knowledge's, abilities and skills:Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, materials and equipment.Working knowledge of the operation and care of sweeping, vacuuming and polishing machines and related equipment.Ability to do manual cleaning and related labor and to work continuous hours while standing.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public. City pays contribution toward employee only medical and dental insurance. Employee can pay the difference to cover spouse and/or children. Life & LTD insurance coverage is provided. Employee participates in the City's pension plan and the City contributes to the plan. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and optional benefits.Regular Part-Time 20+Employee works in a position that is classified as 20+ hours per week but less than 30 hours. City pays contribution toward employee only medical insurance. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation and optional benefits.Regular Part-Time(less than 20 hours/wk)Employee works is a position that is classified as less than 20 hours per week. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation.Part-Time (No Benefits)Employee works in a position that is classified as a "no benefit" position (i.e., Fitness Instructor, Scorekeeper, Substitute Lifeguard).
