Key **

  • Oversee all activities related to product reliability.
  • Support onboarding of new products and maintenance of existing ones, including water heaters, tankless water heaters, and water filtration systems.
  • Coordinate the development of reliability test plans for residential engineering projects.
  • Supervise or conduct FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for engineering projects.
  • Analyze warranty data to provide insights to engineering project teams.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to address field issues with engineering support.
  • Set and achieve objectives for both self and team members.
  • Manage projects, offering guidance and mentorship as required.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, coaching, and promote team development.
  • Utilize and direct the use of CAE tools like SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, and FEA, interpreting the results.
  • Develop and enforce engineering standards and procedures, offering expertise on engineering issues.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to internal business units.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of AOS processes and customer needs, participating in best practices and recognized for operational expertise.
  • Identify valuable projects and define their technical requirements.
  • Set objectives for project timing, resources, and funding.
  • Manage the project budget and timeline to meet goals.
  • Conduct regular status meetings, keeping the team updated on project progress and changes.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Role-Specific *

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Engineering or related sciences, plus 7 years of experience.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience as a product engineering manager.
  • Minimum of 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

  • Recognized expertise and significant technical knowledge in the field.

Role Responsibilities

  • Oversight of reliability-related activities for new and existing products.
  • Coordination of reliability test plans and FMEA activities for residential engineering.
  • Warranty data analysis and engineering support for field issues.
  • Objective setting, project management, and team development.
  • Effective use and direction of CAE tools.
  • Development and application of engineering standards and procedures.
  • Technical communication and participation in best practices.
  • Project identification, objective establishment, and budget management.
  • Regular project status updates and other assigned duties.

  • Engineering degree (BS, MS, PhD) + 7 years.
  • 10+ years in product engineering management.
  • 4+ years in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • Willingness to travel.
