What You'll Be Doing:

Must have the knowledge of the various insurance payers, providing daily applications of cash processing and reconciliation of payments to the hospital accounts receivable. Review A/R to ensure all payments are posted correctly and appropriately.

Essential Functions

  • Download electronic payments from Various systems and various Insurances Companies and post to Hospital Accounts Receivable.
  • Post checks received daily by mail to the hospital Accounts Receivable.
  • Provide these checks to Finance for deposit scanning to the bank account.
  • Reconcile cash posting transactions to the Daily Cash Journal Report on a daily basis.
  • Investigate unidentified cash receipts and post to the appropriate accounts.
  • Accurately complete an Audit spreadsheet of all Cash posting transactions and forward to the designated departments.
  • Review EOB (Explanation of Benefits) and allowance the accounts accordingly.
  • Scan all remittance to the assigned vendors in a timely manner.
  • Perform Cash Posting audit at the end of the day to ensure all activities from lock box, vouchers and Finance office are balanced.
  • Process all payment through the electronic credit card machine and submit to Finance timely.
  • Scan, send and reconcile all Payments daily.
  • Participate with quality management (Audit) as needed.
  • Attend training sessions as specified.
What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Knowledge of Patient Accounts Billing terminology.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and calculator functionalities.
  • Good communication and customer service skills are a must.
  • Prior experience working in a Hospital Billing Department or Collection Agency would be helpful.

Influenza Vaccinations are a requirement for employment at CarePoint Health. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date.
