ZGC is a U.S. subsidiary of ZEN-NOH, the largest agricultural cooperative association in Japan. We operate a grain and oilseed export terminal in Convent, Louisiana, which is the highest-handle grain export terminal in the U.S. In recent years, we have expanded our grain origination and export footprint with joint ventures in Brazil, Canada and Hong Kong. In addition to grain trading, we operate a forage processing and export business headquartered in Washington.
This job is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day electrical operations at the assigned location(s) ensuring safe, consistent, efficient and profitable operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management of assigned location staff, staffing, logistics, inventory, maintenance, efficiency, quality, and customer service. Additionally, the job incumbent will promote and maintain a positive imagine within their local communities. This job may manage a team of employees, be a project manager, or may be a combination of both.

All levels are required to:
- Fully participate in the company Safety Program and attends daily pre-shift meetings.
- Perform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations; including wearing appropriate PPE for task being performed.
- Instruct others on proper use of required PPE for tasks/job being performed.
- Utilize appropriate tools in proper application and technique, both hand tools and power tools.
- Other duties as assigned (i.e. audits, inventory monitoring, maintenance needs, housekeeping as needed, etc.)
- Learn, understand and follow all safety procedures.
- Grow knowledge of electrical theory and hands on experience.
- Perform assigned tasks utilizing proper use of electrical test equipment/meters.
- Consistent communication with upper level Electricians.
- Install conduit.
- Locate breakdowns and make necessary repairs in a quick and efficient manner to minimize downtime.
- Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes; install new electrical equipment as needed.
- Utilize blueprints for electrical system installations; locating locations of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards and other equipment.
- Install conduit and wiring.
- Replace items, such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components and join wires in boxes with various specially designed connectors; test for proper connections and electrical compatibility once wiring complete.
- Record description of daily tasks performed.
- May connect motors to electrical power and install and maintain the electronic controls for industrial equipment.
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly PM's.
- Assist the shift electrician to keep plant running.
- Follow recommended maintenance schedule for cleaning and lubricating equipment, and maintain records on equipment status and maintenance.
- Ensure tools utilized are clean and perform routine maintenance on special equipment used in electrician's work.
- Study blueprints and schematics and determine methods, materials, and equipment needed to complete the assignment.
- Connect wires to plugs, switches, controls, light fixtures, traffic controls, appliances, motors, breaker panels, and switchboards.
- Splice wires by stripping insulation from wire leads, twist, clamp, and/or solder leads together and apply insulating terminal caps using a variety of hand tools; make underground waterproof splices.
- Disassemble, repair and reassemble or replace defective electrical equipment such as plugs, switches, outlets, controls, ballasts, motors and appliances using hand tools, test equipment, and service manuals.
- Test installations to check and insure continuity of the circuit, and the compatibility and safety of all components using test equipment such as an ohmmeter, ampmeter, voltmeter, oscilloscope, or battery buzzer.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit, junction, switch, outlet boxes, and switch boards using hand tools and such special equipment as mechanical drills, cutters, benders, and threaders.
- Installs and repair telephones, light fixtures, electrical controls, motors, and appliances using hand tools and electric drills.
- Pull wire through conduit.
- Determine materials needed for most frequently occurring repair work, prepares requisitions, and monitors inventory.
- Proper filling out of FGIS paperwork for various tasks.
- Install and troubleshoot electric motors.
- Basic troubleshooting of Control Circuits.
- Assist in training lower-level Electricians and other staff.
- Perform all duties required of the operation and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's).
- Work shift work to establish and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
- Unplug elevator legs.
- Perform and oversee maintenance of instrumentation, motor control systems, PLC and HVAC system.
- Install and maintain operations of Transformers.
- Train lower level Electricians and other staff.
Education
Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred - Electrical Certification
Experience
Required - Experience appropriate for level.
License/Certification
Required - First Aid Certification
Preferred - Professional Electrician Certificate.
