This is a direct hire position for 3rd shift. Apply today Maintenance Technician Responsibilities: Follow guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), uniform and dress code and product safety requirements Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, keeping work area clean and safe at all times Support company policies and be safety conscious at all times Address or report safety concerns immediately Ensure equipment is lubricated properly by checking and greasing equipment Check bearings, chains, and belts for abnormal wear Perform preventative maintenance as needed Troubleshoot and repair equipment Facility maintenance Perform light plumbing, carpentry and mechanical tasks Assist with mechanical breakdowns Assist in the maintenance and repair of the grounds Remove trash, sweep walkways, and shovel snow Operate forklifts, manlifts and boomlifts Requirements for Maintenance Technician: - High School Diploma or GED and one to three years related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes - Mechanical aptitude and technical skills - Skilled in the use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices - Basic electrical skills including use of voltmeters, ohmmeters and pipe benders - Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems - Forklift experience - Capable of operating man lifts and boom lifts - Ability to read and write English - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos - Ability to write simple correspondence - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals - Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions - Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
