Job DescriptionPosition: Cage Cashier
Department: Cage
Reports To: Cage Cashier Supervisor
Job Summary:
Handles all transactions, including currency, coin and money equivalents for both customers and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to):
- Balances assigned bank accurately.
- Makes exchanges for customers of currency, coins, and money equivalents in a courteous and timely manner.
- Cashes travelers' checks for currency.
- Redeems scripts, coupons, and receipts for currency.
- Staffs a Jackpot/Fill Station.
- Processes cash, chip, and coin transactions, cashes checks, and disperses gift certificates.
- Processes credit card cash transactions.
- Receives and issues dealer tokes.
- Identifies and resolves discrepancies.
- Processes personal checks for players.
- Prepares accurate and thorough departmental records and reports.
- Assists other cashiers in the cage, as assigned.
- Provides courteous service and is cordial to employees and guests.
- Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including skill to perform the varied transactions cited above.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to accurately handle and count money as well as make change.
- Ability to pass a math test (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
- Ability to handle guest confrontations
- Ability to work in a smoking environment.
- Ability to walk and stand for 100% of shift.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, reach, twist, and grip throughout shift.
- Ability to lift forty (40) pounds at a time.
- Ability to adapt well to the casino environment that involves large numbers of people as well as loud and continuous high noise levels.
- Ability to psychologically handle the concept of persons occupying an establishment for the purpose of gambling, drinking, eating, and smoking for long periods of time.
- Six months money handling experience, including operation of 10-key machine
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have a track record of integrity and confidentiality.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime as needed.
- Must have employment eligibility in the S.
- Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
- Knowledge of tribal policies and procedures and Arizona Gaming rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of games.
- Standard computer knowledge (computer proficiency with hardware and software).
