As an Accountant you will be responsible for performing accounting-related activities in the general ledger department with regular direction and guidance from their leader.Your primary responsibilities include reconciling general ledger accounts, analyzing and verifying financial data and account reports, compiling information for department staff regarding accounting practices and procedures and related compliance issues, as well as providing overall support for the general accounting needs for the Company's North America division.Other work includes project participation and other regulatory and compliance-based functions.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare monthly general journal entries, account reconciliations, and various other accounting statements and reports and provides interpretation of results as appropriate to support an accurate and timely monthly financial close for the Company's U.S. divisions
  • Maintain integrity of all general ledger transactions
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations and perform correcting journal entries
  • Develop strong working relationships with co-workers
  • Analyze financial data and prepares account reconciliations
  • Navigate and extract data from financial systems to investigate and resolve outstanding items as appropriate
  • Review, validate, and process transactions
  • Provide useful, timely, and accurate analysis of financial results and information to Accounting leaders
  • Develop and maintain current and accurate account reconciliations
  • Prepare SOX controls
  • Support the creation, development, and maintenance of the department's process documentation and flowcharts
  • Effectively communicate and escalate issues and information to appropriate Accounting leader in a timely manner
  • Provide timely communication to Accounting leaders to support an effective resolution
  • Provide general assistance and support to the Accounting leaders by preparing ad hoc reports and financial analysis
  • Develop an understanding of GAAP and related processes
  • Effectively communicate results of analysis to relevant accounting leadership
  • Partner with other finance and non-finance groups to support design and implement process improvements
  • Develop a strong understanding of the accounting and business processes for which the accounting team has responsibility

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of one year of experience required
  • Mix of public accounting and industry experience preferred
  • Experience with an ERP system preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting for and maintaining fixed assets in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance processes and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/ written communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with leaders and other departments
  • Ability to develop understanding of financial reporting to support process and transition to the G/L group
  • Ability and desire to grow in the position and accept more responsibility
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with MS Office, specifically Excel, e.g., pivot tables & Vlookups
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to adjust effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures
  • Pro-actively stay current with developments and trends in areas of expertise & provide new ideas to improve process efficiencies.

The expected pay range for this position is between $64,000 and $80,000 (Base) plus 15% bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position qualifies for benefits which may also include a discretionary bonus.
