Job Description: As a Senior Accountant at JC Lewis Motor Company, you will play a crucial role in driving financial activities related to both our automotive dealership and commercial property management operations. Working closely with the finance team, executive management, and department heads, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for automotive dealerships.
Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for deviations from forecasted expectations.
Prepare various accruals, and analysis.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Collaborate with department heads to develop annual operating budgets for each location unit.
Monitor performance and provide regular updates to management.
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.

Cost Control and Expense Management:

Analyze costs and expenses to identify areas for optimization and cost-saving opportunities.
Implement strategies to control expenses while maintaining operational efficiency.
Review and approve expense reports and invoices for accuracy and adherence to company policies.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Work with auditors during financial audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.

Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making processes.
Evaluate investment opportunities and business initiatives to assess their financial viability and potential impact on company performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models and business cases for new projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred but not required.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience with financial reporting and ERP systems; knowledge of dealership management software (DMS) and property management software (PMS) is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
