We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant financial regulations. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall success of the finance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
  • Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Generate financial reports for management review.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement changes.:
  • Effectively communicate financial information to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with MessageGears policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with Oracle Netsuites is a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
  • Typically requires 2 - 5 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA) is a plus.
