**Knowledge and Skills:**

Demonstrated ability to design electric drive systems achieving vehicle program technical and financial goals in a production environment. Key focus on requirements definition and documentation.

Demonstrated ability to verify electric drive components and systems including test planning, test setup, test execution, and test documentation. Scope includes functional performance, environmental qualification, certification, component reliability, and system durability.

Demonstrated ability to constructively work with suppliers in the application and design of electric drive components.

Demonstrated ability to constructively work with teams having diverse skills and from different cultural backgrounds.

Demonstrated ability as a technical lead for projects meeting project performance, schedule, and financial goals.

Demonstrated ability applying formal product development processes in project execution.

**Required Experience:**

Product engineering experience (at least 7 years).

Product design experience (at least 5 years).

Experience leading technical projects (at least 2 years).

Technical experience relating to the development (design and/or test) of electric drive systems (at least 3 years).

Bachelor's degree in engineering with emphasis on power conversion, electric machines, power electronics, electric drive control, and/or similar technologies or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with equivalent work experience.

**Desired Experience:**

Strong practical experience in electric drive technology product application.

Experience with component development of electric machines or power electronics or alternators or batteries or power harnesses.

Experience in project management.

Advanced technical degree in electric drive field.

Experience with vehicle engineering (examples include agriculture, construction, automotive, recreation, mining).

**Major Duties include:**

Design - systems: A Senior Electrification Application Engineer works with the vehicle engineers to define and develop the engineering requirements of electric drive systems for production programs. After completion of the requirements, this person will design systems. This includes analysis of electric drive components such as electric machines, power conversion electronics, and batteries. This engineer will deliver electric drive solutions across multiple client vehicles. These solutions must meet vehicle requirements for performance, quality, reliability, and schedule. He/she will also work to achieve commercial goals, for example cost targets, for electric drive components and will strive to reduce development time and expense by leveraging knowledge, components, and suppliers across multiple projects.

Design - components: A Senior Electrification Application Engineer works with internal client electrification module teams (eMachines, batteries, power electronics, software) and external suppliers to define and develop the component requirements and then to support the component development following production processes. This position does not involve detailed component development.

Design - vehicle Integration: A Senior Electrification Application Engineer works with vehicle engineers to integrate the electric drive system into the vehicle. This involves designing electric drive system interfaces and specifying the related vehicle systems to meet the vehicle requirements. Examples include geometric placement of electric drive components, gearbox interfaces and gear ratios, mechanical interfaces for inverters, electric machines, batteries, and wiring harness, and assembly, service, and safety aspects of electric drive system integration. During the physical vehicle evaluation, this engineer will support the onsite build, commissioning, and testing of the vehicle integration aspect of the electric drive system.
