King Solutions, Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced FT Brokerage Specialist to work on site at our Dayton, MN location. The Brokerage Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of freight on behalf of King internal programs and clients, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery. This role involves collaborating closely with carriers, customers, and internal teams to negotiate rates, book loads and provide exceptional customer service. The specialist ensures compliance with industry regulations and maintains accurate documentation to support logistics operations
Responsibilities:
- Source and secure freight capacity by building relationships with carriers.
- Match client and operational shipment needs with available carrier options.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers to maximize profitability.
- Develop and maintain a network of dependable carriers.
- Onboard new carriers and ensure they meet company compliance standards.
- Monitor carrier performance and address service issues as needed.
- Respond proactively to delays, disruptions, or other logistical challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including contracts, rate confirmations, and billing.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Monitor industry trends, including market rates and capacity availability.
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimize brokerage operations.
- Other duties as assigned
- Proven experience in transportation brokerage, logistics, carrier sales or related field
- Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers and customers.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), load boards and Microsoft Office Suite
- Problem-solving and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with federal and state transportation regulations is preferred.
- Analytical and strategic thinking for cost-effective decision-making
- Adaptability to changing industry dynamics and customer needs.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
- Rotating weekend on call availability is required
