Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant to join our finance team in a private equity-backed healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Healthcare Accounting: Apply specialized knowledge of healthcare accounting practices, including revenue recognition, expense allocation, and intercompany transactions. Stay updated on industry-specific regulations and guidelines.
  • Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations during audits. Assist in addressing audit findings and implementing recommendations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to provide insights into the organization's financial performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Make recommendations to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Complex Transactions: Handle complex accounting transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and equity investments. Ensure accurate recording and reporting of these transactions.
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closings. Identify and rectify discrepancies or errors.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry-specific requirements, such as HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and other healthcare-related guidelines.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize your proficiency in MS Great Plains and Microsoft applications to efficiently manage financial data, streamline processes, and generate reports.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance financial processes and procedures to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Implement best practices to improve reporting and analysis.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including operations, billing, and finance, to facilitate smooth communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; a Master's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in public accounting/audit practice, with a focus on the healthcare industry.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare accounting principles, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Great Plains and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed healthcare organization is a plus.
