Summary:The Supply Chain Manager position is a key role within the strategic Supply Chain management structure. The Supply Chain Manager is primarily responsible for leading the buyer/planner team in direct material sourcing and in ensuring effective and efficient material flow from raw materials to finished products in meeting manufacturing production schedule and project timeline. Monitor inventory and propose appropriate procurement plan based on business priorities. Coordinate with suppliers on NDA, pricing negotiation, identifying potential risks and solutions. Lead and monitor commercial client communication for forecast, PO acceptance, continuous improvement projects, Quality issues impacting delivery and OTIF metrics. Essential Duties:Support the organization in all aspects of supply chain, including an emphasis on sourcing, material planning, inventory, PO maintenance, shipment tracking and supplier management. Lead and manage the allocation of raw materials to production. Oversee the reporting of material aging, obsolescence, and project material storage cost. Analyze demand requirement and determine an appropriate safety stock. Use supply characteristics and inventory holdings to accurately determine and propose an appropriate procurement plan based on business target and warehouse space. Lead and / or oversee labeling changes or implementation of new labels for clinical supplies and commercial products. Participate and contribute to department and company metrics and implement process improvement. Review invoices and resolve issues regarding discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers. Establish measurable supplier performance metrics. Collaborate with suppliers to reduce costs and improve quality, delivery and service performance. Proactively identify and communicate risks and/or changes that will impact the supply of material or finished products. Plan and coordinate distribution activities of finished products with customers.Seek to constantly expand and improve on supply chain skills and knowledge base.Ensure and promote compliance to company and supply chain policies and procedures.Manage team members' performance and assist in establishing team members career development plan.Qualified to work with controlled substances.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor degree in Supply Chain, Science, or a related field preferred.Minimum 8 years of purchasing and/or planning experience in the Pharmaceutical industry, or in any combination of Supply Chain, Operations, Quality and/or Distribution logistics in the chemical or food industry. Excellent communication and organizational skills.Effective problem solving, decision-making and multitasking skills. Able to read and understand engineering drawings. Ability to foster good teamwork and collaboration, as well as maintain personal accountability and responsibility.
