The ideal candidate is a leader who has experience establishing engineering principles in alignment with AS9100D standards, providing senior mechanical engineering oversite of the design process (preliminary and critical reviews, change control, drawing release and control, prototype fabrication work order release and control), as well as fabrication and test support. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership: oManage a team of mechanical and systems engineers and support engineering techs in the design and fabrication of first of a kind systems to AS9100D standards oCoordinate review processes §Design Review (PDR/CDR) §Change Control for drawings and models. §ERP implementation from a part perspective oOversee the assembly, commissioning and testing of systems alongside technicians working under the engineer’s direction. oManage teams to specific tasks drawn from a program statement of work to (SOW) schedule and budget. Communication: o Analyze and report results of device and system testing, compare results to the analysis basis of the design. o Write analysis reports, project update briefings, project milestone, monthly, quarterly, and final reports. o Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with suppliers and customers. o Prepare manuscripts and presentations for external communication at industry and professional society conferences. Productivity: oUse CAD/CAE tools such as SolidWorks Simulation, Finite Element Analysis oWork with PIs to implement project science goals within the constraints of the contractual statement of work. oProvide independent technical assessment to challenge the approach of team members including the PIs. oSpecify components, identify suppliers, prepare purchase orders, monitor custom work of external fab shops. oCreate and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications. oGD&T Knowledge (Stack up analysis) oParticipation in program stage gate reviews - Innovation: oEstablish resources and work with management projects to develop solutions to engineering problems. oCreatively adapt industry best practices guided by analysis in the design of integrated mechanical, thermal, fluid, electrochemical devices, and systems. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Minimum Experience: 10 or more years of focused technical and management experience in design execution and project engineering on government contracts. Ability to manage project task teams to schedule and budget Experience using SolidWorks Ability to communicate effectively and clearly. Must be a self-motivated and a great team worker. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS AS9100 experience, or experience in a highly regulated field Licensed professional mechanical engineering Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering field
