About your role:

The Funding Processor assists the Finance and Accounting Department with clerical and administrative functions. This role reviews all car deal documents for compliance and posts all incoming funding electronic fund transfers (EFTs), pays off vehicles and updates necessary schedules.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
  • Validates that all new and used vehicle sale contract information is complete and accurate.
  • Provides detailed explanatory notes of any missing forms or data necessary for the completion of the vehicle sale; tracks missing data until all information necessary for the vehicle sale to be complete has be obtained.
  • Reviews pay off sheets for accuracy.
  • Prints and mails payoff checks for vehicle trade ins.
  • Creates journal entries to record incoming EFTs for car deals financed through third-party banks.
  • Manages the Contracts in Transit (CIT) schedule, updating notes with detailed information and researching why deals over 10 days have not been funded by banks and communicates with store personnel about significantly dated CITs.
  • Assist the billing team by processing deals promptly.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.
  • Follow scheduled hours as needed, defined by your manager.
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. College experience in accounting is highly desirable.

Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:
  • Prior automotive finance or accounting experience is preferred.

  • Proficient verbal/written communication skills in customer interactions with employees, vendors, and management.
  • Must maintain a valid state driver's license to drive any customer or company vehicle.
  • Knowledge of administrative and accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and various automotive management systems. Intermediate/advanced Excel experience required.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including speaking or writing to others to convey information effectively, understand speech and written sentences and communicate effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex finance and necessary controls and reporting.
