Conduct routine maintenance checks on custodial equipment and supplies to ensure they are in optimal working condition. Thoroughly dust all furniture and fixtures as needed. Clean, wash, and disinfect drinking fountains, washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers, and fixtures. Empty trash receptacles, dispose of trash in compactors or dumpsters, and manage outside storage bins. Ensure cleanliness of entrance and exit areas, including glass, doors, and hardware. Keep outside areas near exits and entrances clear of debris and snow. Report maintenance needs, damages, acts of vandalism, and concerns to the appropriate staff. Submit or recommend work orders as necessary. Monitor and manage supply levels. Promote workplace safety and environmental practices. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Education and Experience Requirements: No Experience required Minimum of (1) year Custodial or Janitorial Experience (Preferred) Ability to work directly with disabled individuals. Obtaining and maintaining the appropriate Security Clearance is required to access the primary worksite. Physical Demands: The Custodian position is a physically demanding position. While preforming the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is frequently required to use to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. The incumbent must spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, operating medium- weight equipment. The incumbent is required to do a great deal of stretching and bending, often in awkward positions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Environmental Demands: Custodian will encounter potentially hazardous cleaning products and chemicals. We prioritize safety and provide comprehensive training to minimize risks.
