Laundry Technician

Maple Knoll Village, a continuing care retirement community, is looking for a fulltime (4 days per week) dayshift, Laundry Technician. Hours for this position are 7a-3p (Monday-Friday) and 630a-230p (weekends and holidays). This position will require you to work everyother weekend and holidays. The pay for this position is $15.00.
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, or Administrator to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Must have dexterity, as there will be bending, lifting, standing, and walking throughout the units.
- Must be able to push laundry carts, equipment, and supplies.
- Must function independently.
- Follow established safety policies and procedures.
- Performs a variety of tasks, such as collecting and sorting soiled linen, loading and unloading machines, and folding clean linen.
- Clean and sanitize your work area daily including machines, worktables, and sorting area.
- Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning.
- Operate washing and drying equipment, load and unload laundry from machines. Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications.
- Monitor feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor.
- Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned within the housekeeping department (assisting with personal laundry on the units, etc.)
