We are looking for a certified dog trainer who can work with mild to moderately reactive dogs. These would be dogs who bark and/or lunge on or off leash and do not have a bite history.We currently offer a reactivity group class and would like to also include meet ups for real world practice, more private lessons, and offer the same services at our larger, outdoor space Unleashed Dog Camp in Renton.Any trainer working with us will adhere strictly to positive training methods and will not practice aversive training methods in other settings. We also require current certification through CPDT-KA, Karen Pryor Academy or an equivalent.This position could also include teaching in other areas such as dog sports, nose work, basic manners, cooperative care, etc. but this is not required.West Seattle Wonder Dogs and Unleashed Dog Camp together are a team of diverse individuals. We expect anyone joining us to be respectful of other people's race, gender, gender identity, religion, age, physical and neurological differences and sexual orientation.Given the strict guidelines around independent contractors, we have chosen to create this role as a W-2 employee position. We are open to discussing an independent contractor arrangement under the right circumstances. Trainers who provide private training for Wonder Dog clients are paid on commission.The interview process includes one paid working interview where an applicant will teach a sample class of our current clients who would attend at no charge.
