**Job Responsibilities**

Pennoni, a leading engineering and design consulting firm, is currently seeking a Staff Civil Engineer, in our Virginia Beach, VA office. The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

* Manage projects/tasks of various sizes for a variety of clients including VDOT, NCDOT and agencies in the Mid-Atlantic Region and locally administered transportation projects in Virginia.

* Provide guidance and mentoring to younger engineers and technical staff with the use of Autodesk or MicroStation Connect, Open Roads Design and Project Wise and coordinating highway design tasks with survey, traffic, water resources and bridge staff on transportation improvement projects.

**Job Requirements**

**Required Attributes:**

* MicroStation Connect, OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and ProjectWise (PW) experience or Autodesk/Civil 3D experience

* Highway and roadway design experience using MicroStation Connect, ORD and PW

* Bluebeam PDF editor experience a plus; GIS experience a plus

* Hydrology and Hydraulic (H&H) design experience

* Drainage design, SWM and ES&C design experience. CCR certification a plus

* Utility Design, water and sanitary sewer utility layout and lighting design

* Developing Maintenance of Traffic schemes, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans

* Developing project cost estimates and specifications, including Special Provisions.

* Construction consultation experience

**Preferred Attributes:**

* Excellent communication skillsboth oral and written. Experience with preparing technical reports and memorandums.
