In this position, you will be part of TASCs agency infrastructure, whose departments collectively assure the overall quality, fiscal responsibility, effectiveness, and impact of TASCs work, and work to advance our mission to build a healthier, safer, and more just society.

We are currently looking for full-time Director of Human Resources.

Starting at $80k contingent upon experience, education, etc.

Summary: This position will work with the VP, HR to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administration

  • Collaborates with the VP, HR and agency leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, leave; disciplinary matters; investigations; performance and talent management and employee recognition.
  • Facilitates professional development and training activities for HR team.

Talent Management

  • Serve as a business partner with hiring managers and HR Team to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies that result in client satisfaction.
  • Develop effective relationships within the organization and the hiring community to have influence and impact the recruiting process and hiring.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management systems.

Payroll/Benefits

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Oversee coordination of benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims,
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings.
  • Audit the accuracy and performance of functions performed by benefits staff.

Compliance

  • Assist the VP, HR in monitoring and ensuring the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • At least five years of human resource management experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate many projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of human resources and payroll systems; spreadsheet software, etc.

The agency currently offers hybrid work schedules that combines in-office and remote work. Employees are required to report to the work site three days per week and the option to work up to two days remotely.
