Assembly Technician III

The Assembly Technician primary role is to assemble parts and components onto a larger finished good according to specifications from clients or supervisors. In addition, you might be called to perform diagnostic tests of assembled goods before they're shipped to check proper working function so any adjustments can be made accordingly.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for following written work instructions, assembling component parts into a finished vehicle, documenting inspection results, and communicating identified improvement opportunities to relevant department leaders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work from written job instructions, point-to-point wire lists and wiring schematics.
  2. Install mechanical components into specialty vehicles and in some cases make electrical connections as necessary.
  3. Use PPE (personal protection equipment) properly to prevent unexpected incidents.
  4. Inspecting assembled products for any faults or defects.
  5. Reporting incidents, faulty operations, or product imperfections on the assembly line to management
  6. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by strictly adhering to established standards and procedures.
  7. Contribute to the accomplishment of the organization's quality goals and mission by fulfilling any related tasks as required.
Requirements:
  1. 5 years or more of vehicle assembly experience.
  2. Production scheduling and planning abilities.
  3. Troubleshooting experience.
  4. Good eye-hand coordination to construct small parts and pieces into a final product.
  5. Mechanical skills and the ability to use various hand tools and power tools to produce a final product.
  6. Ability to follow instructions and diagrams as delivered for each product.
  7. Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy pieces of equipment, as well as stand for hours at a time.
  8. Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 2 years' experience working with qualified Assembly Technician.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or training in assembly operations.
