Mid-Level Distribution EngineerPOWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior-Level Distribution Engineer for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in Hilo, Hawaii.Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designsThe ability to apply engineering calculations to various project challenges to develop the most complete and competent designPerform quality reviews of project deliverablesRequired Education/ExperienceA BSEE, BSEET, BSME or BSCE degree, from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power optionSeven (7)years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV)The qualified candidate should be experienced with utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package developmentFamiliarity with distribution design software, both overhead and underground, the National Electric Safety Code, and utility best practicesStrong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skillsMust be able to successfully pass client's background screening processMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordDesired Education/ExperienceProfessional Engineering license (P.E.) or equivalent in the state of HawaiiExposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, DDS etc.The ability to lead and direct a team of engineers, designers, and draftersTravel should be expectedEIT certification or ability to obtain onePrior utility experienceAbility to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team environment.At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
