**THE OPPORTUNITY:**

Buyers are primarily responsible for the acquisition of company materials and services, management of vendors, and monitoring the flow of goods and services in our supply chain. Quality, on-time delivery, and cost management are critical to the success of the company, and are the main priorities of the Purchasing Agent.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Utilize MRP software to determine material and service needs

* Prepare requests for quote and purchase orders

* Analyze costs and negotiate prices for goods and services

* Monitor existing orders to ensure on time deliveries

* Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns

* Expedite supplier orders as required to support production

* Build vendor base as required

* Experience with MS Office products (Excel, Word etc)

* Problem solving skills (a plus)

* Prepare cost analysis reports

* Communicate supply chain information to other departments and management

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Bachelors Degree or higher in Business/Economics/Supply Chain or equivalent

* 2+ years working experience in a procurement role

* Commitment to quality and attention to detail

* Knowledge of MRP/ERP software and assembly workflow as related to supply chain management

* Strong problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Ability to understand written and oral instructions

* Familiarity with reading engineering drawings/blueprints

* MRP/ERP experience is preferred.

* Prior purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred

* Buyer/Expeditor experience a plus
