RN (Registered Nurse)-Intensive Care Unit (ICU)Full Time Days (7A-7P)Are you looking for an amazing opportunity to make an impact in your local community?Our ICU is looking to add to their family.We offer top-notch benefits, which includes Tuition Reimbursement, Loan forgiveness, 401K and much more.WORK LOCATION: Texas Health Allen1105 N Central Expy, Allen, TX 75013WORK HOURS:Full-time Days hrs/week; 7AM - 7 PM, every other weekend and holiday requirementsThe 8-bed unit population consists of patients the age of 14 to geriatrics.Patients may range from acute care to critically ill encompassing most major illnesses and injuries including those needing continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and percutaneous mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP/Impella). Exclusions are major burns requiring a higher level of care, severe head trauma, and stroke patients that require neurosurgery interventions .Nursing care provided in the intensive care unit includes assessment and reassessment of patient and family, mutual planning of care, implementation of appropriate interventions and standards, evaluation of outcomes, education of patient and family, and discharge planning.Multidisciplinary patient care interactions assure appropriate and timely interventions towards achieving patient care goals.Furthermore, the multidisciplinary approach involves nursing, nutritional services, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, social services, surgical services, physicians, and physician office staff; utilizing the nursing process, objective and subjective data collection and patient/family education to meet the patient's needsIntensive Care Department highlights:•Environment of teamwork with a family type atmosphere•Advancement on critical care education through cross training and courses•Focus on Quality and Excellence in patient care•Scheduling by requests, bedside staff participate in formulating the schedule with the oversite of the manager.•Increasing use of higher technology equipment and advancements in the communication process QUALIFICATIONS:•Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required.•BSN preferred.•One-year experience as a registered nurse in an ICU setting required•Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.•Three (3) years recent ICU experience preferred.RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care•RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required; Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire. •BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support -required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly•ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support -Required within 90 days of hire•CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training -Required within 60 days of hire WHAT YOU WILL DO:•Basic Human Needs - Responds to others' priorities regarding safety, physical, psychological, and social needs.•Human Respect - Honors worth of humans through unconditional acceptance.•Appreciation of Unique Meanings - Concerned with understanding others frame of reference.•Affiliation Needs - Engages family/caregivers in health care situations.•Mutual Problem Solving - Professional behaviors that help patients and families understand how to confront, learn about, and think about their health and illness; involves a reciprocal, shared approach with resulting decisions acceptable to involved parties.•Attentive Reassurance - Listens and concentrates on others.
