As part of a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals, you will provide the technical support necessary to ensure reliable and efficient operations. You will provide solutions to chronic equipment problems and initiate or participate in failure studies. You will also analyze equipment performance reports to identify and implement opportunities for improvement so that the reliability of your area is not only maintained, but increased. You will lead the charge for meeting reliability targets and asset improvement through the application of Operational Discipline, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Suncor's Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) programs while upholding engineering and industry best practices, adhering to Suncor's technical standards, and applicable codes.In this role you will identify opportunities to maximize asset availability, provide solutions to chronic equipment problems, and reduce cost, while operating safely and meeting Suncor technical standards. You will be an integral member of our maintenance engineering group at our Commerce City refinery, which is the largest refinery in the Rocky Mountain region and the only petroleum refinery in Colorado.Minimum Requirements:5 or more years of work experience in heavy industrial settingsKnowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)Experience in troubleshooting and specification of repair scope for control valves, transmitters (level, temperature, pressure, flow, etc.), process and CEMs analyzers, etc.Ability to generate loop diagrams and instrument datasheetsFamiliarity with SIL (Safety Integrity Level) and Burner Management SystemsStrong understanding of Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) program development, best practices, tools, applications, and KPI'sKnowledge of Root Cause Analysis investigationsExperience in generating and understanding control basis memorandums and Cause and Effect diagramsBachelor's degree in engineering preferredDedication to employee health and safety and the environmentPrevious experience with SAP would be considered an assetA valid driver's license and a clean driving recordMust be legally authorized to work in the USA for the duration of your employmentResponsibilities:Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for instrumentation assetsMonitor and measure asset performance and ensure asset performance and strategy effectiveness measurements are fully integrated into asset strategies and maintenance programsCollaborate with the Maintenance Planner to review and interpret equipment strategies and to validate the actions and recommendations are integrated into effective maintenance programsProvide technical expertise to operations regarding technologies and methods for improving equipment reliabilityConduct investigations and determine the true root cause of failuresProvide recommendations to eliminate failures and optimize asset availabilityLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of our Commerce City Refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd.Relocation support will be providedHours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needsThere is currently no deadline to apply; applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis, however if you are interested please apply nowIn alignment with Suncor's value of Safety Above All Else, we conduct pre-employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employmentSalary and Compensation Details: $110,000 to $145,000 annual salary and an annual incentive (bonus) programOur business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of workGreat work/life balance, including a generous vacation programCompetitive benefits programs offering choice and flexibilityGenerous pension and 401(k) savings plansWhy Suncor?Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway™, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).
