What We Need:

24/7 News/NBC News Radio has a rare opening for a Washington, DC., reporter/writer. Primary responsibilities include covering Inside the Beltway events, along with other national/international news of significance. This is a position based in the House Radio Gallery, which will mostly include working from our booth and covering events remotely.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide content to 24/7 Newswire/NBC News Radio.

  • Cover news conferences events and various other items.

  • Write wire stories and edit audio for newswire.

  • Voice stories for affiliates nationwide.

  • Speak to radio affiliates nationally and internationally about significant news events.

What You'll Need:

  • Excellent writing and editing ability; excellent grammar

  • Significant understanding of politics

  • Strong time management skills; adept at setting priorities and managing deadlines

  • Ability to plan and organize, manage projects, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Stress tolerance especially with tight deadlines

What You'll Bring:

  • Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return

  • Ability to work within prescribed guidelines without needing close supervision

Compensation:

Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
