Senior Engineer/Estimator

A local Jamestown company is seeking a Senior Engineer/Estimator to join their team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the compatibility of incoming RFQs with the company's capabilities and capacities, generating accurate manufacturing quotes, and coordinating with various departments to determine the best manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales and Program Management teams to assess the compatibility of incoming RFQs with the company's capabilities.
  • Produce accurate manufacturing quotes promptly in response to requests from Sales and Program Management.
  • Work closely with Engineering to determine optimal manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to ascertain material and OSV costs required for quoting.
  • Maintain a comprehensive quoting log and evaluate completed jobs against quotes to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Ten years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a machining environment.
  • Thorough understanding of the company's manufacturing capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including cutting rates and techniques for various materials.
  • Familiarity with Quality Control functions and requirements.
  • Expertise in reading blueprints and interpreting customer specifications.
  • Proficiency in CAD and electronic quoting software.
  • Ability to work across multiple departments, suppliers, and vendors while adhering to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of inspection tools and techniques.

  • 1st shift, Monday through Friday
  • Pay Rate is $78k - $99k per year.
