Description

The Barback is responsible for assisting the bartenders by maintaining stock, changing kegs, controlling glassware and maintaining all bar areas to be sure they are clean. The Barback should be constantly verifying that the bars have ample amount of clean glassware, back-up product and cocktail ingredients, and ice.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Fills all ice wells at the start of every shift
  • Restocks all beer, liquor, wine, glassware, juices, etc.
  • Ensures proper rotation of the product
  • Verifies that all draught beers are filled and in proper working order and changes the kegs as necessary
  • Assists in prepping syrups, juicing, ancillary cocktail ingredients, and prepares garnish stations for the bars
  • Anticipates needs of the bars and bartenders, so that members and/or guests are always able to have what they need
  • Works diligently and communicate efficiently with the bartenders and other Food + Drink staff during service
  • Always maintains a clean and well-stocked bar area per Woodside guidelines and makes sure all bottles and glasses are arranged correctly
  • Washes and sterilizes all glassware
  • Constantly works to wipe down the counters, monitors trash, and makes sure the bar is stocked with towels
  • May at times be asked to support special events within Club
  • Maintains clean, organized and visually appealing areas in and around all food + drink outlets
  • Moves throughout the shift with purpose
  • Attends to all members and/or guests
  • Complies with Club's employee handbook manual, departmental policies and procedures and with all applicable federal and state employment laws
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Job Standards

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Education/

Experience:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience is required
  • Prior work as a barback would be preferred
  • Basic knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and of general drink recipes preferred
Skills:
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Ability to use computers and related technology efficiently
  • Time management and organizations skills: ability to multitask in fast paced environment

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's License, or mode of reliable transportation
Special Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, carry, lift, and stoop multiple times during entire shift.
  • Ability to move or lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in written form
  • Interest in wellness and/or fitness is a plus
Working Conditions:
  • Operates in and around pool area in extreme weather conditions walking and standing
  • Required to work both in and outside in high heat summer temperatures
  • Working in around lots of people where noise levels can be excessive
  • Flexible and changing working hours - must be available per business needs
  • Schedule will vary based on weather and the needs of the business, particularly for special events, promotions, etc.
