Job DescriptionOur Shop Assistant/Driver plays a key role in the success of our Sprinkler Shop and subsequently our Sprinkler Fitters in the field. The Shop Assistant/Driver must be motivated, safe, and reliable. He/she must be comfortable and familiar with area nuances, such as back roads, and traffic patterns. The position is also responsible for assisting the Shop Foreman with putting stock away, keeping the Sprinkler Shop clean and well organized. Essential Functions:- Adhere to strict safety and quality standards on and off the road- Interact in a positive and professional manner with co-workers, vendors, customers and the public while delivering products to job sites and business locations- Work closely with Shop Foreman to sort and prepare a delivery route to meet project deadlines and team needs- Deliver project supplies and other supplies as needed in a timely, safe, and efficient manner- Drive in inclement weather, such as light snow- Occasionally, work irregular hours- Maintains cleanliness of Sprinkler Shop and office- Assists with receiving shipments, stocking, and organizing supplies in the Sprinkler Shop- Assists with other projects and duties, as neededQualifications- Must be at least 21 years old, licensed for at least 3 years; and have an acceptable driving record- Previous experience driving/delivering supplies/goods, a plus- Excellent verbal and written communication- Holds high ethical standards at all times- Proven track record of reliability- Self-motivated and able to work in a self-directed environment with an upbeat attitude- Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment- Ability to lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts up to 12 hours long- Ability to operate and navigate a 10,000-pound vehicle- Ability to effectively operate a GPS- Ability to lift, push, pull and move supplies up to 75 pounds- Capable of moving up and down stairs- High-school diploma or equivalent- DOT certification a plusAdditional InformationWayman provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment, without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, martial or veteran status, sexual orientation, or the presence of handicaps or disabilities.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
