DescriptionPrimary Responsibilities:Understand customer assembly and component specifications and ensure compliance with designsLead module-level design and integration, collaborate and direct component engineeringCreate and manage engineering statements of work (ESOWS) for all components of the RMA.Apply APQP to the application (i.e., DFMEA, SCIF, DFM/A, DVP&R, Dim/Tol analysis, proto Control Plan)Specify components aligned with Materials Engineering, Purchasing, and manufacturing strategies and functional requirementsDevelop and maintain the RMA prototype and production Bill of MaterialsLead Design and Release (D&R) in a phase-gate process, including Design Validation test plansLead and organize prototype planning and assembly for testing, including quality controlsManage prototype tooling cost & timing from external and intra-company sources.Provide direction to CAD, CAE/CFD, and test personnelLead and organize validation testing per the DV planAssess test results and apply design and/or prototype quality countermeasures as necessaryCreate and/or update core engineering standards and test procedures and support DFMEA and regulatory requirement toolsRelease and sign-off of drawings, ensuring drawings align with corporate design standardsExecute and document all required product development deliverables in HPDS and/or GPEP.Interface with multiple product groups, PD Departments, Advanced Systems, Manufacturing, and Program Management.Interface with customers (internal and external)Experience:5+ years of related experience preferredEducation:Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering preferredDesired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to design, develop, test, and launch complex assemblies.Understanding of heat transfer, fluids, materials, controls, instrumentation, structural, and NVH principlesExperience integrating heat exchangers, fluid lines, compressors, and controls as refrigerant systemsExperience in interpreting customer electrical hardware and software specificationsExperience in quality disciplines such as DFMEA, SCIFS, etc.Able to interpret CFD and CAE/FEA results and utilize them to optimize system designDemonstrated problem-solving skillsExperience in project planning and managementAbility to conduct Technical Design ReviewsProven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Close work with the lab on the system test set-up, execution, and reportsSpecial Requirements:Travel required to suppliers, customers, and corporate manufacturing plants; international as requiredOvertime may be required during some time periodsWhat We Offer:At Hanon Systems, we provide a competitive benefits package focused on employee well-being and work-life balance:Medical, dental, and vision program optionsRetirement savings plan (401k)Paid time offTuition assistanceFlexible work schedules (for eligible positions)Hanon Systems recognizes our employees' critical role in the company's success.
