Summary: Lead the strategic planning and execution of Consumer Lending Policies and Procedures to optimize Sales performance and drive revenue growth for the Credit Union. Direct and manage the Consumer Lending Sales and Operations teams for all Direct and Indirect Consumer Lending activities, focusing on enhancing and balancing sales effectiveness and operational efficiency. Oversee the Consumer Lending Sales team, processing and funding operations for all Consumer Loans, ensuring seamless alignment with dynamic and competitive sales goals. Ensure consistent and accurate compliance with all Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations while proactively managing Consumer Lending activities to exceed sales targets. Champion, initiate and lead initiatives in product development, sales performance optimization, and system and process improvements to boost revenue. Drive profitability in all Consumer Lending activities, all while balancing the Credit Union's lending objectives with exceptional member service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop and implement dynamic and competitive loan growth strategies that align with the Credit Union's strategic plan and budget. Regularly monitor and assess progress to ensure targets are met.
  • Stay ahead of market trends by keeping informed of competitors' rates, terms, and consumer lending developments to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Analyze market opportunities to introduce and champion innovative products or services, optimize delivery channels, and adjust pricing strategies. Ensure all initiatives comply with regulatory standards.
  • Research, evaluate, and launch new lending products, focusing on growth opportunities and market expansion.
  • Stay informed of industry shifts and adjust strategies proactively to sustain competitiveness.
  • Oversee the consumer lending portfolio, ensuring regulatory compliance, high-quality standards, and proper collateral management in alignment with internal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive monthly loan reports, leveraging data analytics tools to streamline reporting and improve decision-making efficiency.
  • Lead consumer lending as the Credit Manager, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and a strong service culture.
  • Maintain exceptional loan quality, utilizing sound judgment in managing regulatory compliance and risk.
  • Conduct thorough audits of consumer loan files to ensure consistent adherence to policies and maintain high standards of lending quality.
  • Design and develop competitive loan products, rates, and terms that reflect market conditions, providing key insights for interest rate decisions and actively participating in ALCO.
  • Manage and direct loan interest rate adjustments, ensuring timely and strategic implementation of both discretionary and mandatory changes.
  • Lead all consumer lending sales activities, including branch lending, call center, e-loans, and indirect lending channels, with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales goals and enhancing the member experience.
  • Develop and maintain lending vendor relationship with third party lending relations vendors.
  • Maximize the use of technology to drive efficient, fast, and customer-friendly loan delivery across all lending platforms.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and other key departments to develop targeted campaigns that effectively promote consumer loan products and services.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the consumer lending program, ensuring that sales and service goals are met while staying compliant with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations governing consumer lending policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Maintain and update loan procedures, ensuring the consumer lending team receives ongoing training, development, and adheres to compliance standards.
Staff and Performance Management:
  • Manage the Consumer Lending Sales and Operations Center staff, overseeing all areas, including sales, loan processing, documentation, and approval or denial of loans.
  • Develop and monitor performance standards, providing mentoring, coaching, development support and training to support the growth and development of sales and operations staff.
  • Communicate organizational goals consistently and clearly, ensuring all employees understand rules, regulations, and performance expectations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate lending training for Consumer Lending Sales and Operations Center staff.
  • Interview loan applicants, resolve member complaints regarding loan decisions or errors, and approve or deny loan applications.
  • Perform additional duties as needed, with or without accommodation.
Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), anti-money laundering policies, and other related regulations, such as the USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending, and the Credit Card Act.
  • Complete required BSA and OFAC training courses annually, as provided by the Training and Compliance Departments.
  • Comply with all TFCU policies and procedures to maintain adherence to relevant regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of eight years, or related experience, in a corporate level strategic lending position is required.
  • College Degree (BS or BA in a relevant field) is preferred, can substitute professional certifications and work experience for degree.
  • High School Diploma or general education equivalent required.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of consumer lending practices and procedures
  • Must be adept at understanding the marketing and sales process, automated decision making engines and credit scoring models.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, motivational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of compiling, analyzing, preparing and presenting reports with financial/statistical data.
  • Must be proficient in the use of standard applications in a Windows-based environment (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to lead a staff of 15 or more employees.
  • Ability to exercise lending authority of $200,000.
  • Thorough knowledge of lending compliance and legal issues.
  • Experience with credit scoring systems and ability to implement scoring model for pre-approval lending software and target marketing.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers with related business software packages.
