Overview:

The Technical Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for creating 2D and 3D mechanical drawings to support machine system designs. This role involves building systems from our standard machine line, selecting equipment, and overseeing on-site installation, start-up, and testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes assigned projects (scheduling, arrangements, construction, trial-run) according to plan.
  • Organizes communication meetings, conducts technical confirmations, and coordinates efforts to ensure project progression. Escalates issues to managers if projects are at risk of falling behind schedule and takes corrective actions.
  • Develops schedules for business improvement tasks (e.g., standardization) and monitors progress. Consults with managers if the project schedule is threatened and implements corrective measures.
  • Engages in technical sales with existing customers, recommending solutions and system improvements.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots customer machinery and systems.
  • Understands customer needs and conveys them to the sales department.
  • Provides technical support to the sales team, aiding in equipment model selection and application.
  • Uses the Ho-Ren-So approach to assist sales in the right direction, conducting necessary technical confirmations.
  • Adheres to and implements established safety compliance procedures and submits required reports.
  • Manages and guides contractors during construction work.
  • Designs machine systems using standard machines to create functional automated systems based on customer requirements, using AutoCAD for system flow diagrams.
  • Demonstrates basic electrical knowledge.
  • Performs calculations to correctly size systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Possesses knowledge of mechanical and electrical aspects of standard products.
  • Understands mechanical allowable stress requirements and evaluates calculation results for acceptability.
  • Conducts mechanical troubleshooting (e.g., diagnosing issues with a Jet Loader due to filter clogging, pipe clogging, valve failure, or sensor failure).
  • Supports sales with technical expertise.
  • Considers mechanical customization according to customer needs.
  • Provides mechanical support for production and technical support to field service teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in software including Windows OS, MS Outlook, MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint), PDF Creator, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with meters such as electrical test meters, temperature meters, moisture analyzers, and air speed meters.
