The Hotel Indigo is currently seeking a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual for the position of Banquet cook at our StepStone Hospitality managed room hotel. This candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational & communication skills; a strong proficiency in multi-tasking with hospitality operations experience essential. A Texas Food Handler Certification is required. Must have experience in an A la carte restaurant. Must be able to saut', fry, grill, and multi-task. Cook tickets to order. Ability to follow written and verbal direction.
Requirements
Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
- Plan and execute menu items for banquets, events, and special occasions
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
- Monitor food quality and presentation to meet our high standards
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Support the overall operation of the kitchen as required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or culinary environment, preferably in banquets or catering
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of menu planning and recipe development
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
