Loader and Excavator Operator

Onsite Location: Tinian Island, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, United States

In this role, you will be responsible for operating two key pieces of construction equipment: loaders and excavators. You will use your skills and experience to perform a variety of tasks that contribute to the success of the project.

Duties

  • Operate loaders.
  • Load, scoop, and transport materials like dirt, gravel, and debris.
  • Level surfaces and prepare building sites.
  • Backfill trenches and excavations created by the excavator.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed, such as cleaning up debris or transporting supplies.
  • Operate excavators
  • Excavate trenches, foundations, and other features according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Break up and remove rock, concrete, or other tough materials (may require
  • specialized attachments).
  • Carefully maneuver the excavator to avoid underground utilities and maintain job site safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance on both loader and excavator.
  • Conduct pre-operation checks to ensure safe functionality.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks like greasing, cleaning, and checking fluid levels.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Follow all established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct yourself professionally and prioritize the safety of yourself and others on the job site.
  • Be aware of surroundings and operate machinery with care to avoid accidents.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members.
  • Coordinate with other workers to ensure efficient material movement and task completion.
  • Understand and follow instructions from supervisors.

Experience & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating loaders and excavators.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the specific
  • equipment being used (may vary by state) Can be national equivalent.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and manual dexterity.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical condition, able to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and operating machinery for extended periods.
