Senior Medical Affairs Manager (Cambridge Hybrid)

The Senior Medical Affairs Manager will deliver clinical and medical knowledge, experience and expertise across the value chain providing insight to cross functional partners on devices from conception to launch, from a medical lens. This person will have strong clinical knowledge as well as technical capabilities as they relate to functionalities of our medical device products with Hospital Patient Monitoring.

Your role:

  • Act as a Key opinion leader and manage key-opinion-leadership and act as external and internal facing evangelist for relevant clinical and medical topics via ambassadorship, whitepapers, engagement with societies, scientists, customers, industry partners, payers, governments and NGO's.
  • Provide thought leadership on key relevant clinical and medical topics to support strategy development and strategy execution.
  • Ensure medical knowledge is embedded and insights included in all steps along the product life cycle, from ideation to end of life.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with key thought leaders and key societies.
  • Co-create innovation together with clinical and other partners and consortia.
  • Effectively translate scientific, clinical, market trends/research and stakeholder interaction data into publication strategies, messaging, and tactical planning
  • Partner with Clinical Affairs, Product Management and Marketing to develop and implement a comprehensive global publication plan (including manuscripts, congress abstracts, symposium presentations and poster presentations) in collaboration and alignment with cross-functional teams.
  • Enable compliant safety information pre- and post-market documentation and reporting.
  • Ensure medical safety and appropriate clinical risk assessment on products and solutions.
  • Support HEMAR (health economics, Market access and reimbursement) on e.g., Health Technology assessments, market adoption dynamics in key markets, current and future reimbursement models.
  • Advise on potential M&A deals and partnerships, including hands-on involvement during due diligence phase and on deal teams.
You are the right fit if:
  • Your skills include experience in leadership positions or evidence of ability to lead project teams with proven results. Project teams' leadership experience is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background and/or a MedTech background with some level of seniority (preferred). Medical Research background is also ideal.
  • You have a medical degree as a Specialist Physician in acute care (ED, Anesthesia, ICU, OB, Hospitalist) preferred. We will also consider candidates with an NP or CNM background.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Office/Remote position.
  • You are a clinical/medical expert within your given field with strong technical abilities to understand device requirements/uses and can confidently make risk management decisions related to medical device harm potential to effectively mitigate risks. You can work across the entire lifecycle of medical device products to guide product ideation and creation for maximal impact and safety for customers.

  • This position requires up to 30% travel, domestic and international.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position is $172,480 to $295,680, annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
