We are adding new positions due to growth. **Position details:** **WORK FROM HOME OPPORTUNITY** + Every other weekend + 0.6 (48 hours per two weeks) + Hours: day hours + This position is located in St. Paul, MN + Work from home after training (4 - 6 weeks) + Training for this position requires flexibility to work full time (1.0 FTE) on-site at our Midway Corporate Campus. Training shifts are variable including days, mid-shift, evenings, and weekends. + Free parking + Benefit Eligible As an RN Telephone Triage Nurse Line Advisor, you will independently triage phone calls from patients and/or family members inquiring about their symptoms, medication refills, test results, and information regarding our facilities. Along with Fairview related facilities, this position also handles calls from other organizations that contract for our services. Nurses manage approximately 6 calls per hour with calls lasting 6-9 minutes in duration. **Responsibilities** + Independently Triage Phone Calls + Acts in the role of patient and family advocate to assist them through the health care system. + Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in triaging callers properly such that all callers receive a timely and appropriate response. + Answers incoming clinical related calls via computer-based phone system using a high level customer focus and timely manner + Collects information regarding a callers/patients concerns, medical history and description of symptoms via the telephone using the nursing process. Uses symptom-based protocols to systematically assess and address the patients needs. + Prioritizes calls based on the urgency of the patients needs. Provides patient education via telephone. Carries out assigned nursing tasks and medical orders as delegated by providers or designee to support patient care. + Processes prescription refill requests promptly and accurately. + Documents in electronic medical records in an accurate and timely manner + Able to access MSDS software to assist employee with information regarding chemical spills, etc. in both emergent and non-emergent + Fulfills all organizational requirements -Completes all required learning relevant to the role - Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures and standards. + Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking + Performs other duties as assigned. + Focus on Customers + Maintains a customer driven professional attitude + Takes action to meet and exceeds the needs of customers + Continuously implements strategies to improve customer satisfaction **Qualifications** **Required:** + Associate Degree in Nursing + 3 - 5 years experience + Current MN RN License + WI RN License (must be obtained within 120 days of hire) **Preferred:** + Bachelors in Nursing + Triage (phone or in person) RN experience + Teaching, mentor or preceptor experience + Electronic medical records experience and strong comfort level using computers + Experience using multiple phone line system **Need help finding the right job?** We can recommend jobs specifically for you _Fairview Health Services (fairview.org) is an award-winning, nonprofit health system providing exceptional care across the full spectrum of health care services.
