Actively participates in education specific to patient diagnosis and needs.Assists providers with special tests and procedures.Demonstrates an ability to start IVs and monitor IV fluids for correct rate.Able to assess every patient for safety, medication dosage appropriateness and other needs.Accurately administers medication, performs treatment in accordance of standards of care. Translates medications into pediatric doses and use proper equipment for patient's size and age.Able to identify victims and the process for reporting abuse.Maintains compliance within department, clinic and state and federal regulations and policies.Record all phone interactions with patients in the EMR. Working knowledge of phone and phone etiquette.Properly care for instruments i.e. cleaning, packaging, sterilizing as appropriate.Participates in mandatory in-services and attends staff meetings.Follows MRH policy and procedures.Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness and participates in drills.Acts as a resource person to other staff members.Positive and supportive team member to staff members and other departments within the organization.Participates in process improvement teams or in interdepartmental efforts.Act as a liaison between patients, families, providers and staff.Complete workload as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned.Floats to other clinical departments as assigned.Special Qualifications:General Surgery Specialty: Wound Certification within six months of date of hire or transfer.Breath Alcohol testing and Drug screen testing requires special training only personnel who have completed training shall perform these procedures.Organization Wide Performance Expectations:Demonstrates commitment to performing according to the CHOICE values of MRH and representing the organization in a positive and professional manner.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.Upholds regulatory requirements to ensure continual compliance with departmental, hospital, state and federal regulations and policies.Follows all policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, public and staff.Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements; attends departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated timeframes.Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all patients, staff and vendors.Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time.Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions).Must be able to legally work in the United States.Must be able to pass a background check.Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).Must complete employee health meeting.Education/Licensure/Certification:Current Unencumbered Colorado RN license or Compact License.Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).Experience:One year clinic experience preferred.Position Classification:Non-exemptCompensation Range:$32.08 to $48.12Benefits:Medical, Dental, Life, Retirement, Paid Time Off
