Junior Program Analyst FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Division Full Time Contract Position, Clarksburg WV Position Description: The Program Analyst will support the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Section at the FBIs Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division in Clarksburg, WV. The Program Analyst will work with the Senior Program Analyst and NICS personnel in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment, to provide the timely determination of a person's eligibility to possess firearms or explosives in accordance with federal law. The government prefers contractor personnel be assigned full time (40 hours/week) and be available on site at the CJIS facility throughout the periods of performance. All work shall take place within the NICS Section, with a possibility to work Monday through Sunday, including all federal holidays except Christmas. Analysts must be willing to work multiple shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the agencys need. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for the accuracy of all work completed and held accountable to the standards set forth in the NICS Section standard operating procedures (SOP). Employees work will be monitored by existing NICS Assessment and Training Unit personnel and reviewed in accordance with the quality standards set within the NICS Section. Compose proper transaction research comments. Verify/validate documents received and current documents withing the NICS and/or other CJIS Division databases. Conduct research on explosives permit checks and analyze information for validity. Provide analysis (reviewing transactions mark for processing, processing work identified within a transaction, and providing follow-up action as needed), on NICS transactions as required by the NICS. Conduct research and analysis on delay queue transactions in accordance with SOPs. The contract staff will be monitored for quality by the government. Conduct verification on specific originating agency identifiers and correct/update corresponding contact and agency information as needed. Contact agencies as needed. Document any contact-related issues to include agency, method of contact, and description of issue these need to be supplied to the NICS Sections Business Relations Team (BRT). Provide updated or any new contact information received while in correspondence with any agency to the BRT. Evaluate, continuously, existing procedures, processes, techniques, models, and/or systems related to the work being processed and provide recommended actions or solutions. Assist the NICS Section with composing and maintaining adequate documentation of all work as required under the current SOPs within the NICS Section. Complete necessary document clean-up of existing records to update and/or purge documentation as needed. Maintain proper control of their individually assigned Brady Identification Numbers. Maintain proper control and safeguard all assigned hardware in accordance set by FBI standards and policies. May be asked to assist with mission critical work as the need arises. Work Environment 1000 Cluster Hollow Road, Clarksburg, WV, 26036 Office Environment CURRENT WORK schedule is M-F 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. After successfully completed training, this contract does allow for situational telework. Each contract personnel telework station must have no less than one (1) megabyte of reliable internet access to perform their daily job duties. Situational telework can be denied at any time due to poor work performance. Employee must adhere to the FBI guidelines while on situational telework. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college, OR a minimum of at least two (2) years of relevant experience. Must reside within 60 miles of client work site. Must demonstrate attention to detail. Must demonstrate oral communication nd interpersonal skills to work within a team environment. Written communication skills sufficient to explain actions taken and how recommendations were derived. Must have proficient computer skills, including the ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Google Chrome; navigate multiple browser windows, and copy/paste to and from different applications. Physical Demands: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
