VP Construction & Development required on a full time basis, working for a well established Development & Construction business, based in the Tampa Bay Area. As VP Construction & Development, you will be surrounded by the best in the business, working as a team towards a common goal. The role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, and sound judgment to lead and manage the asset management team, including several concurrently running construction projects. As VP Construction & Development, your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of:

Developing long-term strategies for construction projects and property development in alignment with the companys goals and objectives.
Overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of development and construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Creating and managing budgets for development and construction projects including cost estimation, procurement, vendor selections, and financial analysis to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints and timelines.
Provide leadership, guidance, and compliance of the construction teams including project managers, engineers, contractors, and other personnel involved in construction and development projects.
Maintain relationships with Municipalities and respective personnel. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes throughout the construction process.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders involved in construction and development projects.
Identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges associated with construction projects including safety hazards, environmental concerns, and regulatory issues. Working closely with the Risk Management Team to keep them informed of potential concerns.
Implementing quality control measures to ensure that construction projects meet established standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship. Work to develop the company's brand standards for Construction and Development.
Incorporate technological advancements and innovative solutions into construction processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of construction projects and alignment with organizational objectives.
Work to complete an assessment of each property to map out a long-term strategy for investments.
Travel is required, including some overnight trips. Individuals must have the ability to travel via all forms of commercial transportation as required and have the ability/access to drive a vehicle.

To apply for the VP Construction & Development position, you must have the following skills & experience:

Bachelors degree in a related field (engineering, construction management, architecture, real estate development) or equivalent education or experience.
Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience, specifically in asset management or construction management.
Certified associate in project management or project management professional Certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
Thorough knowledge of land planning, development, and general construction guidelines and standards.
Must have advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Knowledge of construction practices and labor costs in construction, plus a good knowledge of the uses and costs of materials.
Ability to multi-task, which requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and quality.
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and has a process improvement-oriented mindset.
Assure safety standards are used that comply with all company, local, City, State, and Federal guidelines.
Solid understanding of local, state, and federal building codes and permitting requirements.
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and has a process improvement-oriented mindset.
Use independent judgment to analyze, troubleshoot, and make decisions.
