Job Description

This position will have an origination focus on St. Louis or in Illinois.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CRA Originator coordinates and implements pilots or other programs to assist special interest groups with home ownership programs in conjunction with Central Bank.

The individual in this position must have a thorough understanding of the Community Reinvestment Act and related regulations and conduct relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing, educating, implementing, and fostering relationships with various community groups, government agencies and local municipalities to create and preserve affordable housing for low to moderate income candidates and to initiate and support neighborhood revitalization.
  • Provide avenues or training for credit counselling, financial literacy, and other related educational programs.
  • Working knowledge of the Community Reinvestment Act and related regulations.
  • Manages all CRA loans or specialized programs. Creates, develops, and implements efficient and effective procedures to assist in the origination, processing, underwriting, and closing of specialized loans.
  • Ensures legal/regulatory procedures are followed and compliance practices meet all Federal and State standards.
  • Develops Partnerships with local community members who are tied to target groups of low to moderate income residents e.g., non-profit organizations, government agencies, community development corporations and local groups and associations.
Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma and commitment to continuing job related course work.
  • Two (2) years of loan originating with proven ability to support a pipeline of twenty loan applications per month.
  • Working knowledge of prequalification principles and practices OR two (2) years of processing experience.
    Strong sales skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge including Encompass, Microsoft Word, Excel, and a general understanding of the Internet; basic math ability; basic Accounting/bookkeeping skills; ability to use a financial calculator.
  • Must be detail oriented; have the ability to prioritize; possess solid organizational and time management skills; and have solid problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Must be able to work independently and handle multiple priorities under deadline pressures and time restraints.
  • Must strive for and consistently achieve customer satisfaction.
