We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Warranty Engineer to be based in our Carmel, IN location. The person selected for this role will have 6-8 years' experience in the automotive industry, with a minimum of 3 years in warranty.
Responsibilities include:
- Customer facing role for warranty management & interface between customer and TS teams.
- Responsible for warranty management & performance reporting, ensure customers are satisfied (response time, # open claims), negotiate Technical Factors settlement.
- Responsible for meeting warranty improvement target by customer and reporting.
- Accountable for customer satisfaction concerning turbo warranty and for on-time Technical Factor (TF) settlement with customers.
- Prepare pareto and identify failure modes in dispute, prepare TF scenarios & cost impact. For each failure mode in dispute, prepare customer and arguments including appropriate data. Escalate to CT Team and warranty management, propose resolution strategy.
- Accountable for meeting legal obligations or standards in terms of speed and quality of response.
- Work closely with Field Service team on analysis on timeline and B2B portal updates & customer close looping.
- Accountable for implementing and reporting performance metrics, demonstrating compliance to targets.
- Responsible for joint vehicle analysis with customers at repair shops, vehicle noise assessment etc.
- Accountable for on-time escalation of new issues until resolution team is organized as appropriate FIR.
- Precisely describe new issues internally and to customer Link with CTeam PM and AM to ensure resolution teams are organized as necessary, and that a documented issue analysis was provided to the Team.
- Accountable for meeting warranty improvement target by customer and reporting and agree on warranty improvement road map per customer (top issues, actions, leaders, teams, R/1000 impact).
- Monitor progress of resolution Teams and escalate internally and/or at customer to overcome any obstacle.
- Organize monthly warranty reviews with customer and report on progress for PV customers and minimum quarterly warranty reviews with CV customers.
- Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 3 years of experience in the Warranty/Quality area.
- Experience with electronic components (automotive or non-automotive).
- Certification in Six Sigma BB or Green Belt Certified.
- Experience in the Warranty & Quality related area.
- Deep understanding of a variety of the warranty standards and specifications.
- Customer facing & negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in overseeing entry level employees and delivering successful projects.
- Drive to improve team performance though coaching & work practice improvement.
- Ability to consistently make timely decisions and balance systematic analysis with decisiveness, even in the face of complexity.
