Role Specifics

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the financial operations of our organization. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will handle various accounting tasks within a small but dynamic finance team. You will prepare and post journal entries accurately and promptly along with reconciling accounts in order to maintain the general ledger. You will be entrusted with the month-end closing process, reviewing and analyzing data to correct discrepancies. You will assist the Financial Controller with the creation of financial statements and reports.

As the Senior Accountant you will be in charge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. You will process vendor invoices and ensure they are accurate and assigned to the correct approval chains. You will also ensure that customer accounts that are past due are being collected on working closely with an administrative assistant who will help you contact and collect on those payments. Additionally, you will engage with and furnish information for third-party auditors and tax accountants. Lastly, you will work to ensure that all regulatory reporting requirements are met at the Federal, State, and Local level.

Core Role Responsibilities

  • Review and post transactions and journal entries
  • Run month end accounting close process
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and analysis
  • Review Payroll submission to 3rd party vendor
  • Reconcile daily bank accounts
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation & amortization schedules
  • Assist accounting staff in AP and AR transactions and reporting
  • Analyze inventory transactions, trends, and results
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
  • Preparation of yearly 3rd party audits

Minimum Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting best practices.
  • Experience with ERP or relevant accounting software (Sage, Dynamics, SAP, Netsuite, Oracle a plus), currently using QuickBooks with implementation in future.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)

  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates, Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field (Accounting, Finance, Business etc.)
  • Previous experience with financial audits and physical inventory.
  • Experience with ERP implementation or upgrades.
  • Experience with Bill.com or other payment processing software.
  • Experience with service or manufacturing industries with recurring revenue models.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements in the telecommunication industry or ability to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
