Quality Engineer II - Manufacturing - Composites - Hoosick Falls, NY Under the guidance of the QA Manager, the QA Engineer II has responsibility for management and day-to-day operation of the quality lab; evaluation and resolution of customer and internal production quality complaints; product quality testing (internal and external); testing protocol and development; understanding of ISO9001:2015 standards and auditing; training of plant personnel as it relates to quality; and working with the other functional areas at Hoosick Falls to help drive continuous improvement. The Quality Engineer II must be effective in both written and verbal communications; analyzing, understanding, and presenting data; facilitating and working in a team environment; and have a high attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices Support Process Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and EHS groups in improving both Quality and Safety at Hoosick Falls Train plant personnel as it relates to the QMS Lead quality improvement projects at the Hoosick Falls site Manage and schedule a team of QA Technicians Participate-in and lead internal audits to evaluate performance to the ISO 9001:2015 standards Analysis and presentation of data to various levels of the organization Evaluation, analysis and development of corrective actions associated with non-conforming materials and customer issues Is this job for you ? Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or relevant Engineering/QA discipline 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing quality assurance or similar role Strong coaching/facilitating skills, experience managing hourly employees a plus High attention to detail Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Standards and procedures Understanding of IATF 16949 Standards and procedures a plus Ability to interact with personnel across all levels of the organization in order to complete necessary tasks effectively Six sigma training (Green Belt level desired) Knowledge of statistical methods and continuous improvement tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Familiarity with other database software, SAP, and Minitab is a plus.
